July 08 Calendar Wallpaper

It’s not July, but I’ve still finished the calendar wallpaper for July 2008. This is partly due to the fact that I will be moving on Thursday and don’t know how much time it will take to get settled in. As always the wallpaper comes in 2 versions: with and without the calendar. This way, if you like it, you can still use it after the month has passed. You even have the choice between a bright and dark version. There are 2 different resolutions available: 1920?1200, which is suitable for 1440?900, and 1600?1200. I hope these will suit your needs. Feel free to drop a comment if you need it in a different aspect ratio and I’ll do my best to provide it to you.

I release a new calendar wallpaper in my series. The August 08 Wallpaper is also entitled “Sunrise”. As always it comes in two versions: with and without the calendar, so that you can use it longer than 31 days only. I’ve made it in the 3 most common resolution: 1920?1200 (which is suitable for 1440?900 screens), 1600?1200 and 1280?1024. This is what it looks like. Download after the jump.

This week's wallpaper is a tribute to General George S. Patton, the famous commander of the U.S. 3rd Army during WWII. In this piece General Patton salutes members of the Third Army prior to delivering his famous Blood and Guts speech on the eve of the Allied invasion of France in 1941. This piece is a portrayal of that moment as depicted by Franklin J. Schaffner's 1970 Academy Award winning film "Patton." In celebration of Colorburned Studios' first week as a fully-functioning blog, I'm releasing a second set of wallpapers today. Today's bonus wallpaper is based on another one of my favorite designs. My rendering of a transparent glass-shaped flower was the result of the intersection of a number of techniques that I developed in Photoshop. I found the final result of those techniques to be a breathtaking piece of art.
