Abstract Photo Effect - Calculations And Colorization

Adobe Photoshop » Abstracts » July 29, 2008
Source pshero »

In this Photoshop tutorial I’ll show you how to create an Alpha Channel using the Calculations dialog and we’ll use it to get a really great abstract photo effect. Lets get started by taking a quick look at the photo we’ll be applying this effect to. I shot this close up of a California Succulent and although it makes for a compelling abstract by itself I thought it could make a much bolder statement. The shot is a vertical, so I apologize for the amount of scrolling you’ll have to do in this tutorial due to the image height.

This tutorial explains how to create a energetic, vibrant, colorful wallpaper, like the ones available at Color Charge. These lines, which we’ll call Chroma were highly inspired by the iPod Nano Ad from 2006 and some Quantum Chromodynamics nerdery stuff. You will learn how to bend blurry shapes with Warp tool to draw the lines, beams, and steams. Then you’ll know how to add some glowing and vibrating color effects, and finally polish your drawing. Aside reading this tutorial, you’ll need Photoshop CS2 or CS3, and preferably a computer with a lot of memory and a larger screen to achieve that effect.

B-movie poster art

Adobe Photoshop » Abstracts » July 24, 2008
Source digitalartsonline »

This spoof movie poster design is a simple but effective way of tackling those graphics challenges where there seem to be too many thoughts to fit in: it enables the designer to combine slogans and other textual elements with the bare bones of a storyline and striking images, all bound up in an iconic format that everybody will recognize. Of course, it doesn’t have to be the classic 1950s B-movie style that you adopt – the entirety of cinematic history is at your disposal. Take your pick from gangster movie, romantic comedy, war film or chick flick. In this tutorial, Mark Mayer shows you how to combine 3D renders with stylized photography, text and smoke to capture all the camp horror of an alien invasion.

Magic lighting effect in photoshop

I decided to write another one on some of the photoshop effects. Although I use Photoshop on a daily basis, I am by no means a photoshop expert. The whole process took me about 35 minutes, one thing I think is really cool is to apply the color dodge blending option to folder, and put blured elements inside of it. Using it you can create some really amazing light effects.
