The Magic Night

Step 21. It will be quite good to make highlights of the planet on the bottom reflection, as if it will be on water. For this purpose we will copy our heavenly body and we will reflect it on a vertical.

Step 22. By means of Smudge Tool we will spread it, as on picture

Step 23. After spreading it became much dimmer. We will correct it by means of Dodge Tool (Highlights, 100 %).

Step 24. By means of a simple brush with Opacity of 70 %, we will add some patches of reflected light.

Step 25. Well, if the planet is reflected, so and stars should be reflected. We will copy them and reflect on a vertical.

Step 26. Last touch. We choose Dodge tool (Highlights, 50 %), and we clarify background in areas where the planet and its reflection is located.

Step 27. By means of Burn Tool (Midtones, 50 %) we black out the edges of our canvas.

Awesome.. Excellent Tutor I’ve ever Seen..

Sergio.. Keep Rocking..

that’s a beautiful result!
i’ve gone through many tutorials; many teach you something technical or others are about some cool trick you can do to achieve something.
but this tutorial just uses basic tools to create something that looks incredible!
keep up the work

wow……..Excellent !

Nice but … usually reflections are … uhu … reflecting, but the clouds reflected are different from the visible one and there is not the moon/planet reflected on the water …
This is disturbing …

Keep up the good work!

Sorry! I didn’t saw the third page of the tutorial … ;)

I think I see what Sauro is getting at. The clouds on the bottom reflection look a bit too strong, and the moon/planet reflection looks more like the way a sun would reflect. A moon would show a bit more crescent and less squiggly. Up top you barely see any clouds at all, save the small dark smudges. It isn’t bad, but some of us are probably very picky lol.

However, you still teach the ideas of photo manipulating very well. I suggest this to anyone interested in starting to learn manipulation. It has all the basics.

Also, I have read the whole tutorial :P

Nice tutorial thanks

hai super

Hi! I don’t think I’m doing step 2 or 3 right….my results don’t look the same as the tutorial!! I can’t seem to duplicate the layer! Can anyone help me?

@ Sarah

All you gotta do is select the layer you want to duplicate, then go layer>duplicate layer

Great Photo Manipulation Tutorial. Thanks

awsom,

I will try it this weekend.

I think you messed up on the Moon’s Reflection, it just doesn’t look right.

The reflection of the water implies that the water surface is smooth and without ripples (looking at the trees’s reflection), but looking at the moon’s reflection it looks like there’s a lot of ripples.

It’s just over done. My $0.02.

Cool tutorial. I have to agree with Kbaby though. The planet’s reflection is a bit off. But still great manipulation man. =) Thanks.

Awesome and Excellent!
Great effort and fantastic Tutorial!
Thanks

awesome design kindly send me more link if you have like these one

what a wonderful teach

The reflection of the moon and stars don’t seem convincing. I have taken many shots of the moon reflected in water and this doesn’t look real. Please confer with more reference pictures.
